Huawei unveils quick-charging battery: can charge to 48% in 5 minutes
As most of us desires to get their smartphones’ battery charged quickly in a few minutes so, Huawei has made this possible by releasing the latest battery technology last week known as ‘Quick Charging Lithium Ion Battery’. This battery is using a new electrode design being capable of charging 10 times quicker than that of the normal ones. The actual result recorded was 3000 mAh battery charged by 48% in just five minutes and provides up to 10 hours of talk time. This technique is one of the fastest in charging and doesn’t even affect your battery life.
The new Huawei lithium-ion batteries have a catalyst built into the anode that allows the conversion of electrical energy into chemical energy quickly using heteroatoms (atoms which aren’t carbon and hydrogen) and charges through a bespoke charger without even affecting the battery’s lifespan or shortening the amount of energy it can store.
There was another experiment of the lower capacity 600 mAh battery charged by 68% in two minutes which is not big enough to run a smartphone for a long time but that can be useful too for the non-smartphones running on a lower capacity battery.
Currently, We don’t have any idea about disadvantages (if there are any) and whether this type of battery will be used in other intriguing and successful fields, for instance, wearables and electric vehicles. It does, however bring a great innovation.
Battery renovation has unluckily kept the same place in previous times, except of some remarkable achievements. But, the new quick charging battery technology by Huawei can become a innovator and industry leader in this competitive global environment.
