Gfive G7 President Review
Gfive G7 President: More Value For Money
A couple of weeks ago Gfive launched their 5” smartphone the G7, it was to cater to those people who wanted a smartphone but with a smaller screen size as compared to the G9. The smartphone in itself is a good device, but it’s the price that really sets it apart, being retailed at Rs.14,000. The G7 offers the most value for money it its class.
One more thing which must be said about the G7 is that its not an original Gfive, as is with Qmobile, Gfive has taken up the option of buying other brand smartphones and branding it as their own. Qmobile have done the same thing with their line up of smartphones. This time the G7 is actually a model of the “alps” Chinese brand.
Looking at the success of Qmobile, I guess they have taken up the same business model, except the price that Gfive is selling their co-branded smartphones is pretty reasonable as compared to Qmobile.
The build quality of the Gfive G7 is good, although the encasing is mainly made of plastic, yet the overall look and feel is that of ceramic. The device has a 2000Mah battery, and supports 2 regular sims, which are on standby at all times. As you can see it looks like a smaller version of the President G9, except that it does not have a true high definition screen. The display cover is made of scratch resistant material and comes pre-installed with a screen protector.
The G7 has a 8 Mpixel rear camera and a 1.2Mpixel front camera, it has an external SD card support of upto 64GB.
Since the G7 is running on the jellybean 4.2 the touch is amazingly smooth, we will discuss features of the Android Jelly bean 4.2 in the upcoming video reviews. If you would like to get an idea of the difference between jellybean 4.1 and 4.2 we suggest you visit the following article beforehand so you can get a good idea of what type of functionalities the jellybean 4.2 makes the G7 capable of:
In the benchmarks as you can see the results vary since the un-boxing since there are always different processes running in smart-phones and if you have added or installed different apps the results may vary even more, the best part is that although the phone is half the price of major brands having same specs but performance wise it is also similar, so meaning it has great value for money.
In the heavy graphics testing done by Antutu benchmarks, the G7 performed quite well rendering at a constant 50 fps, the minimum fps required so that jerks and lag are not visible is 30fps, where 60fps is considered optimum and that too at full resolution.
This is good news for gamer guys who are on a budget and can’t afford to buy high end branded phones, the Gfive PresidentG7 should be able to handle heavy games pretty well.
